Ellie Rodwell-Bullock is an oil painter currently based in Buckinghamshire.  Her work explores domestic interiors as settings of familial intimacy, questioning the role of sentiment in fine art practice. This can be seen in her current work which centres around images of her family and home, using these familiar scenes to create compositions with a strong formal grounding; representational concerns like the creation of space and the abstraction of colour are vital to her work and process. As well as exploring the emotional concerns of intimacy and nostalgia, her work aims to act in dialogue with the wider tradition of oil painting, particularly the British painters of the past century.
